Simplifying Logins

School websites continue to grow more complex, and to rely on data stored in one or multiple databases to provide the customization that parents, alumni, teachers, and students expect. Schools look to integrate their websites with their various on-campus systems in order to minimize the staff time required to maintain multiple database. Silverpoint recognizes this as one of the most important challenges facing schools as they develop their websites, and continually develops new and better integration schema for the wide range of school databases and systems used by our clients.

Active Directory Integration

Schools that use Microsoft Active Directory (AD) for network security can take advantage of SchoolSuite® Directory Integration with Microsoft Active Directory. At schools using AD, each user has a directory record that stores their security permissions. These permissions allow them to access various parts of the school's network upon login to their computers. With Silverpoint's Active Directory Integration, users can simultaneously login to the school's network and the school's website using one username and password.

Senior Systems MyBackpack

Silverpoint will incorporate a single sign-on connection with the school's Senior Systems database using web services. Users who login to the website will be authenticated against the Senior System directory to discover their identity, and then automatically authenticated to SchoolSuite as per their role.  Please note that the school may be required to purchase additional functionality from Senior Systems.

PCR Educator

Silverpoint has developed a single sign-on connection with PCR’s web applications. The connection allows a constituent who exists in the PCR database to log into the website and automatically be logged into PCR’s web applications. Please note that the school may be required to purchase additional functionality from PCR Educator.

One Record in Silverpoint SchoolSuite®

Silverpoint is committed to clean data – where each individual has one record in SchoolSuite - and the SchoolSuite database has been painstakingly designed to allow one user to have multiple roles. For users of online communities, there are many advantages to this approach, especially the ability to access content for each constituent type with a single sign-on. Rarely does a school have data in one system, and faculty/alumni, parent/alumni, and faculty/parents would have multiple records if Silverpoint did not take the time to establish unique IDs to ensure that one person can have multiple roles.
