Synching Calendars
Schools often maintain multiple calendars - school calendars, web calendars, facilities calendars and sports calendars. Silverpoint can help eliminate double entry and make managing calendars even easier with its various calendar syncing options.
Microsoft Exchange
Many schools manage their calendars using Microsoft Outlook calendars shared via Microsoft Exchange. For administrators, this means managing multiple sets of calendars – Outlook calendars, which include everything happening at the school, and website calendars, which may contain some or all events. SchoolSuite Calendar Integration with Microsoft Exchange allows the SchoolSuite Calendar module to pull data directly from what is being entered in Outlook (via Exchange 2000 or greater) at the school, thereby eliminating the need to enter an event again on the web calendar. Calendar data is typically synchronized on a daily basis.
SchoolDude
Schools using SchoolDude, a facilities management software, can integrate their web calendars with specific SchoolDude calendars. This integrations allows the school to use its website to display facilities reservations without needing to maintain two separate systems. Silverpoint has implemented a webservice to connect to SchoolDude, a facilities management software system, to import and synchronize events. Specified categories of events updated in SchoolDude will automatically sync to SchoolSuite either updating existing events or inserting new events. The sync is set up to run periodically – nightly or more frequently if necessary.
ScheduleStar Now
If your school uses ScheduleStar Now to manage its athletic data, we have good news. Athletic directors, coaches and assistants can continue to update their schedule information in ScheduleStar and have that data automatically feed into the school's Silverpoint SchoolSuite-powered website. Updates can be made in real time in ScheduleStar Now, and displayed automatically on the school's website via the SchoolSuite Athletics module. The school must purchase or have access to ScheduleStar Now, the web-based version of the ScheduleStar product.
